About Us

A visit to our clinic means spending time in a place of welcoming calm and comfort.

Dr. Kenneth Litwin brings a unique and thoughtful approach to helping patients regain and maintain their health and wellness. He believes that with expert guidance and support, patients can learn the skills and gain the tools necessary to make sure that they stay healthy for the long term.

Recently, a typical doctor visit at a standard medical clinic has become very limited in time and scope.  In some clinics, a visit can be as short as 10 minutes, which is totally inadequate for any in-depth discussion of health-related issues or important details. At KLMD Wellness, we pride ourselves in creating the right atmosphere and allowing adequate time to understand the overall situation and the details behind the health of patients. We recognize that there is a clear link between mind and body, and that many internal and external factors affect our health. Our feelings, perceptions, and thoughts are intimately linked to our physical well-being. This is why Dr. Litwin strives to connect personally with all of his clients and really understand how what might be going on in someone’s life might be affecting their health.

A visit to our clinic means spending time in a place of welcoming calm and comfort. Located in beautiful Sandy Hook, Connecticut, being in our office is like sitting in a treehouse, where overlook a soothing waterfall and the natural beauty of the surrounding forest. These gentle sights and sounds complement the warmth of the brick and wood beam structure of our historic converted mill building to create a state of well-being. From the moment you walk in, you will be greeted with a smile and the attention you deserve. Your time is as valuable as your health. At KLMD Wellness, we respect that.

The “Inside-Out, Outside-In” Approach to Feeling Your Best

At KLMD Wellness, we believe that an “Inside-out, Outside-in” approach to your well-being can be important. There is a definite relationship between the inner self (emotional, spiritual, psychological, and biological) and the outer self, which is what other people see and what you see when you look in the mirror. We believe that many health issues associated with outward appearance are related to inner issues and vice versa. So if you aren’t eating enough omega 3 fatty acids from foods like salmon, you may have dry skin. Or if you suffer from heartburn and you are taking acid reducing medications like Prilosec®, you might not absorb certain nutrients, and this could lead to skin conditions like seborrheic dermatitis. Simply treating your skin from the “outside-in” using a skin care product probably won’t help those conditions very much. There needs to also be a focus on “inside-out” health in order to look and feel your best.

Similarly, if despite your best efforts using diet and exercise to lose stubborn belly fat you can’t seem to make progress, you may eventually lose the motivation to continue your healthy habits and give up on yourself a bit. In that case, an aesthetic medicine treatment such as body sculpting or skin rejuvenation may be the right thing to do to help you stick to your healthy habits. When you feel good about yourself, you end up taking better care of yourself in all aspects of your life. In this case, an “outside-in” approach to your health is extremely useful for helping you to look healthy, feel healthy and be healthy.

Isn’t it time you had a physician take a comprehensive approach to your health? Dr. Litwin prides himself on doing whatever he needs to do to uncover the exact causes of your symptoms and conditions before recommending a treatment program. Our treatment recommendations by necessity cover all the important factors affecting your health, including sleep, exercise, stress management practices, nutrition, as well as specific nutraceuticals, herbs, and medications. We will also refer you to practitioners of other integrative medicine disciplines such as acupuncturists, chiropractors, and cranio-sacral therapists, among others.

We are here to educate you and to empower you to be healthy, feel healthy, and stay healthy.
